About Us »
Where We Build

More than 1,650 HabiJax homes have been built in Duval County, located in Northeast Florida.  HabiJax works closely with the City of Jacksonville, Community Development Corporations, and the Jacksonville Housing and Community Development Commission to determine appropriate locations, land use, and properties.  HabiJax builds or renovates homes on property donated or acquired from public and private sources at a low cost in locations that contribute to overall community revitalization. Scattered in-fill homes are built and renovated in existing neighborhoods, as well as planned home developments within Jacksonville’s Urban Core, such as the successful McNair Park Villas development located on the site of the former Brentwood public housing project.

The map of Jacksonville below displays neighborhoods where HabiJax contributes to community revitalization:

HabiJax brings visible change to communities where run down and abandoned houses are replaced by neat, new homes surrounded by well-kept yards.

HabiJax homes have an economic benefit to Jacksonville

  • Tax dollars are saved when a family moves out of subsidized housing
  • New HabiJax homeowners begin to pay real estate taxes
  • Real Estate values rise as neighborhoods continue to improve
  • Children flourish in schools when they have safe, stable places to live
