Volunteering at the ReStore
Volunteers help the ReStore out in a variety of ways. Individuals as well as groups volunteer Tues- Sat from 9am-6pm. We welcome individuals 15 and older. Please read on for more information!
 
Types of Individual Volunteers  
General Volunteer
The majority of volunteers are general volunteers. This category is broad and changes on a daily basis. These tasks can include, but are not limited to:
Helping provide customers with a great shopping experience, cleaning donations, organizing donations, repairing donations, organizing the stock on the floor, creating new displays, and sweeping/general cleaning.

Cashier
The main role as a cashier at the HabiJax ReStore is to ring up items that customers wish to purchase. This position also involves greeting each customer as they enter the store, helping to tidy the register area, was well as answering basic questions about Habitat for Humanity, Int'l and HabiJax. Volunteers in this capacity are asked to donate at least 8 hours of their time a month for at least 3 months.

Administrative Volunteer
Volunteers in this capacity will help with date entry, filing, making telephone calls and additional related tasks. Volunteers in this capacity are asked to donate at least 8 hours of their time a month for at least 3 months.

Appliance Specialist
Individuals experienced in electrical work help the store by testing, rebuilding and repairing appliances. This includes those appliances we use on a day to day basis at the store and donated items we have received to sell to the public.

Donations Receiver
Donation receivers help us to pick donations for the ReStore. Volunteers will travel with a ReStore staff member in our truck and help to pick up donations from individuals and businesses out in the community.

Groups
Groups are also more then welcome to volunteer! We can accommodate groups as large as 15 on Saturday and even larger on a week day. All groups must schedule with Jennifer. Please contact her for more information about group size and tasks!
