What is HabiJax AmeriCorps?

HabiJax AmeriCorps, a domestic version of the Peace Corps, is an 11-month service member program that offers adults with a high school diploma (or GED) an opportunity to work for insurance, housing and living allowance while constructing affordable housing in Jacksonville, Florida.  An education award is granted upon completion of a successful term of service.  Previous construction, community service and/or leadership experience is helpful but not required for acceptance into this program.  The goal for each member is to complete 1700 hours of service with HabiJax to help reach our mission to eliminate sub-standard and poverty housing in Duval County.
For more information about the HabiJax AmeriCorps program, contact - HabiJax Program/AmeriCorps Coordinator at (904) 798-4529 .
