Volunteers perform a variety of construction tasks (see below). To volunteer on a construction site, please follow the instructions below to sign up online. We welcome individuals 15 and older. All volunteers must register and schedule online prior to volunteering.

What to Wear
Closed-toe tennis shoes or boots are required. Clothes you don't mind getting dirty are strongly encouraged. Light colored, cotton clothing and a hat are recommended for the summer (shorts are okay). Layered clothing is recommended for the winter. Jewelry is not allowed, because it can get damaged or lost very easily.
What to Bring
A plastic drinking cup or bottle is suggested. If you’re volunteering with a group, please bring your completed Volunteer Pledge Campaign forms. HabiJax will provide all tools needed for the day’s tasks.
Other Information - No drugs or alcohol at a work site.
- Volunteers under 18 years of age MUST bring a waiver of liability that has been signed by their parent/guardian, with them to the morning registration.
- Volunteers are asked to not park in front of anyone's driveway or mailbox.
- There will be a one-hour lunch break is from 11:30 am -12:30pm. Please bring a lunch with you or plan to go off-site during that time. Lunch is not provided by HabiJax.
- Construction locations, workdays and assignments are subject to change due to the unpredictable nature of volunteer construction work. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated so that we can ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
- All volunteers sign in at the HabiJax office.
Typical Day
7:40am – 8:00am: Volunteer registration, sign in at HabiJax main office
8:00am - 8:15am: Morning circle, team leader introductions, travel to site (directions provided)
11:30am - 12:30pm: Lunch break
3:00pm: Begin clean-up
3:30pm: Volunteer day concludes
