Thank you for your interest in having your group volunteer at HabiJax!
Having your group volunteer with us is an exciting event that encourages team building and allows your group to make a difference! We welcome groups to perform construction tasks with us as well as volunteer at our ReStore. For construction, we host groups on Fridays and Saturdays and you must sign up in advance. For the ReStore, we host groups Tues-Sat and have avaliable dates for this month and beyond. Please follow the instructions below on registering your group and then call us to schedule a date. Thank you and we look forward to hosting your group!
- Your first step is to determine the size of your group. To provide your group a quality and safe volunteer experience, we limit the number of group members to 20 per day. If your group is larger than 20, we can possibly accommodate you by scheduling smaller groups across multiple days. If your group is larger than 5, you may be split into multiple workgroups across different worksites. Please call Volunteer Services with concerns about splitting your group.
- The next step is to register your group online. Begin by following the instructions to register yourself as an Individual.
- Once registered as an Individual, click on “Create a New Group;” the system will ask you to login if you have not already.
- Enter the organization information and then scroll down to enter the information for the volunteer group. The organization is a broad category under which many groups can be created; whereas, the group is specifically created for a group of people coming out together on a volunteer date. If your group is participating in multiple volunteer days, you will need to create a group for each day.
- Add all of the group member’s e-mail addresses to the appropriate box on the page (this will link them to your group and invite them to fill out the individual registration form).
- Click on “save changes” on the bottom of the page.
- Congratulations! Your group is now registered! You can add and delete group members at anytime by logging in and clicking on ‘my groups.’
- The next step is to determine when you would like to volunteer with us. We host groups on Saturdays/Fridays for construction and Tues-Sat for the ReStore. You can call or e-mail any member of the Volunteer Services team to confirm availability. Please remain flexible as dates do fill up fast! The earlier you contact us, the greater your chance is for getting a specific date. Once a date is chosen, we will schedule you on our master calendar as well as online.
- All group members must go through the online registration prior to the volunteer date.
- On the day you are scheduled to volunteer, please follow the directions provided below.
