circle of support
around our Heroes!

HabiJax brings people together to support U.S. veterans, military service members, and their families in the work of building safe and affordable, quality homes.

Heroes Build
9,097+

veteran-headed households
across the U.S. who have
partnered with Habitat for
safe and stable housing.

Why focus on veteran and military-connected households?

  • 25.7% of Florida’s 1 million+ veterans are cost-burdened by housing.*
  • 59% of Florida’s veteran renters under the United Way’s ALICE threshold (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) are cost-burdened.*
  • Post 9-11 veterans are 5% less likely than their non-veteran peers to be able to afford housing.*
  • Among veterans who are single mothers, nearly half are spending more than 30% of their income on housing.*

Own a Home

We believe that every veteran and military-connected family deserves a beautiful and affordable home. So we are bringing people together to better serve the ones who serve us all. HabiJax homes feature:

  • Brand new construction under $235K
  • Only 1% down
  • Interest rates well below VA / other loans
  • No closing costs, commissions, or buyer’s fees

Heroes Build homes are being planned together in the same neighborhood. You can own a brand-new home and help build a community of mutual support as part of a cohort of veteran and military-connected families.
