Our Community Partner program provides business groups with unique team-building experiences that boost employee morale and connect you to the community. Let us help you make your values visible.
Faith-based groups are important partners in our mission and have been from our founding. Building together allows entire congregations to use their varied gifts to put God’s love into action.
Civic / Community Groups
Community groups and other nonprofit organizations play a critical role in our mission. No matter how your group gives back, you’ll be helping build brighter futures for hardworking families.
Youth / Education Groups
Young people and students play a huge role in our mission. We work with youth and education groups to provide special volunteer opportunities.
Questions about Volunteering
Who can volunteer?
We accept all people regardless of ability or capability! We will work with you to accommodate your needs.
We accept volunteers ages 16 and up.
All volunteers must sign a waiver before participating. The waiver will be available online after registration, or sent via email to print and bring with you on your scheduled day. Minors (16 – 18) will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
What will I do?
Volunteers help with all aspects of our mission! The following list is an example of typical tasks and may include other duties as needed.
- Construction – Construction projects include house wrap, installing windows, hanging vinyl siding, painting and caulking and landscaping.
- ReStores – Store operation tasks include loading and unloading items, organizing and tidying and assisting customers.
- Virtual and Special Projects – Vary based on the project.
Do I need any particular experience?
No experience is necessary to volunteer with us! You will receive a safety briefing and the tasks for the day at the site.

Closed-toe shoes and clothes appropriate for light labor are required at all sites. Be comfortable possibly getting a little messy!
What should I bring?
We encourage all volunteers to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and snacks to keep up your energy. We have extra water on-site.
All tools, safety gear and materials for the day will be provided.
Please plan to bring your lunch or we are happy to recommend some options in the neighborhood!
Can I do court-ordered service?
Yes, we accept some volunteers who have been adjudicated to complete community service hours by the court.
All court-ordered volunteers must first be approved by our office.
Please visit the Court-Ordered Volunteer page for a list of acceptable offenses and for more information on how to contact our office for approval.
Costs are rising... How can we help?
Willing partners make the difference! The costs of construction for one HabiJax home have risen about 50% in only a few years. Our goal this year is to build 32 homes in Jacksonville and we cannot do it without support from our partners.
Many teams are stepping up to participate in our Community Partner Program, contributing to our two greatest needs at HabiJax: financial and volunteer resources. Learn more about the benefits >
