Own a new home through HabiJax

Our homeownership program empowers working individuals and families to buy their own homes with affordable mortgages. In order to be considered for partnership in the program, you must meet minimum qualifications which are outlined below.

Applications for homeownership are received on a rolling basis.

Before applying, you can take a quick Eligibility Quiz. Once completed, you will receive information about our free Homebuyer Information Session, now offered via video on-demand.

Our program empowers you to buy your own home.

Like any real estate journey, keep in mind it can take months to complete.

Program requirements

HabiJax selects future homeowners for our program using three basic criteria:

1) Need for Housing

We work with families who have low to moderate incomes, and who are experiencing crowding, expensive rent, or unsafe conditions in their current housing. Read more >

2) Willingness to Partner

Future Habitat homeowners will attend homebuyer education courses and invest sweat equity to help build homes.

3) Ability to Pay

Future homeowners will pay affordable mortgage payments that are around 30% of their gross monthly income. Read more >

3) Complete an Application

After you complete our Eligibility Quiz and Information Session, you will receive a link to begin a comprehensive application for our homeownership program.
