In 2023, Habitat for Humanity International approved a request for HabiJax to expand its service area to include Baker County and western Nassau County in Northeast Florida. In 2025, the first two homes in Baker County will be built in the City of Macclenny. A ceremonial groundbreaking on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, highlighted progress made thus far and opportunites still to come.

With slabs for the first two homes already poured, construction will continue after some of the summer heat has passed. Interested volunteers, including volunteer groups, can contact Volunteer Manager Adrena Forrest for more information.

Photos and 3D tours of our home models, including the Craftsman and Ranch models which will be built on McIver Ave in Macclenny, are available on our homes page. By August, our new name should be unveiled and applications will be open for these first homes.
