HabiJax is teaming up with the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) to build Jacksonville’s first Tiny House community on the West Side. We’re very excited to bring this new affordable housing option to Jacksonville. See below for frequently asked questions about the project.
TINY HOUSE FAQs
How many units?
There will be 50 units in the community.
What is the Sq footage?
The square footage is just under 600 square feet living area.
What is the rent?
The rent will be based on income, but lower than fair market rent.
What is the income limits of Tiny Home renters?
Renters must be within 30%-80% of Area Median Income for Duval County, Florida.
Are they being built on site or off site?
The tiny houses will be built on site.
When will the tiny houses be complete?
The tiny houses should be completed June of 2021.
How is this project being funded?
This project is fully funded by the Delores Barr Weaver Tiny House Fund at the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida.
How are tenants being selected?
Referrals for tenants will be from other social service agencies in Jacksonville.
What will be the lease term?
At this time, the lease term is TBD.
What will be provided in the tiny house?
The tiny houses will be furnished, with appliances.
